molly + max | wedding
I photographed Molly + Max's wedding in October of last year. Their celebration was one in which joy and sadness are closely riddled together. Of which, is the case for many weddings. Max's brother, Dave, had unexpectedly passed away the year before. Dave was another client of mine, as he was engaged at the time of his passing. It was terrible, unfair, and heart-wrenching. Molly + Max's wedding was a beautiful example of both celebrating their love and also remembering all those they care most about it. Dave's presence was deeply felt and acknowledged. He was there in every way he could be. Weddings are unique because though they pulse with the utmost of joy, there are most often elements of loss and sadness that are also present. A wedding asks that we give thanks, live so fiercely in the moment, and reminds us that celebration is necessary. Photos can give vision to this complexity and that is one reason I not only love photographing weddings, but also approach them with sensitivity and the utmost of attentiveness. I love the images from Molly + Max's wedding because they are wrought with the many emotions that filled their day. I feel so, so honored to have documented it and am happy to share them with you today.
